Yes, it may sound a bit crazy, but it WORKS! The challenge to the students: take a fairly complex (and perhaps dry) topic such as the Federalist Papers and break it down (explain) it in such a way that a second grader would understand it. The students we worked with were engaged, challenged, and enjoyed the process. Check out this sample using the application StoryJumper to create it: "Naughty and Nice"

Watched this very engaging and telling film/documentary on education last night. While I understand that the audience may not have been presented with all the "circumstances" of each of the teachers presented, I certainly came away with an even greater appreciation for the impact our teachers have on our students and the challenges they face. Two main take-aways: 1. teaching is first and foremost all about the relationships and connections we build with our students 2. student centered learning is the most effective method within the classroom. All that said, I highly recommend all stakeholders check out this inspiring film.
