I recently had one of my student digital ambassadors create a prototype for his math class (see below). His goal was to explain and demonstrate his understanding of the concepts being covered in class (rational roots) using the HSRTY timeline creator. I watched him design and create it and it was pretty compelling to witness his choices, overall process, and how it forced him to really think about (and approach) the material in a different type of way; could be great for a both formative and summative assessments, projects, reviews, alternative to the traditional essay, etc.
If any teacher is looking for a way for his students to explain or present a process or trace the development of something (i.e. characters and plots twists in ELA, photosynthesis, the road to the Civil War), give this site a shot. It is super easy to navigate and straightforward.
